Here’s the first official teaser-trailer for Disney’s newest $250 million-budget movie, “The Lone Ranger”. Disney is coming into 2013 real hot after releasing one of the biggest flops in movie history, “John Carter” (John Carter was also a $250 million-budget film). However “The Lone Ranger” seems like it might be worth the investment. The film stars Armie Hammer as the lead, and Johnny Depp as his Native American spirit-warrior sidekick “Tonto”. “The Lone Ranger” is based on the fictional character John Reid and his companion Tonto, whose stories date back to 1933 on old-school radio stations and such. Sorry for the weak description but read this for more info.
The Audio Dope is pretty pumped for “The Lone Ranger” after first viewing the teaser. Personally, I love me a good western, and this seems like an awesome hybrid of high-octane 21st century film-making with an old-school story line. The upcoming film is directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy), and definitely reeks of awesome visual shots reminiscent of the first ‘Pirates’ film. While the teaser was brief and vague, I’m kinda chubbed about this one. Expect a full-length trailer to arrive by Halloween.
